Masalamah Kuwait

So many memories..I have been trying to  recollect all of them. I really do not want to miss a thing. I’m so glad I recorded some here on this blog.I’m so thankful for this incredible opportunity ,God gave us in this once strange land. Its no longer strange , its more home than home itself now. We have been led by His Hand .So many people have touched our lives. We have known family that isn’t really family . I will miss our lovely pastor, he was our biggest moral support.

I have lived ten years asthma  free .I will miss this flat we have lived in, with its bright balcony and large glass window .I will miss the sun.  I will miss my maid and my driver…they’ve been a big support system.Trustworthy ,dependable.

I am thankful for the new life perspectives, the understanding ,new appreciation for this culture that was so hard to understand when we first used to read about in the Bible.I have gained  it all while living here.

I am so proud that my two boys embraced the life that they had here and are ready to let go as well and return someday. I know they will  miss their friends, splashing in the pool together running in and out of each other’s house at odd times, their movie parties, their video shoots. I will miss my own wonderful friends… the luxury of skip hop jumping into yarn stores. So many things we took for granted but I know will look back and fondly reminisce about later on.

Unlike earlier times, where I get overwhelmed by changes, I am ready for this change. Although a little emotional, I am looking forward to it .I ‘m not  perturbed by the enormity of the packing or the complete change, we are having. Because I feel the Lord has been leading us throughout. I will be taking a long break  I hope you will all stay with me through it all and be there when I come back to this space . Until then  take care you all and send us all the best wishes you can. Maasalmah Kuwait, You will always be a special part of our lives.

Gap-tastic

The things  I love most about the Christmas season are the special Christmas programs we have in our church. Christmas carol service, the carolers coming home to sing and the Sunday school Christmas program.

We had a lovely Carol service and despite being a novice choir, our program went rather well even if I say so myself.

Then there was Villupaattu featuring the life of Ruth. This is the second one in our church and was just as entertaining as the first one,if not more.Incase you donot remember me posting about it last year, its here

The children in our Church put up an adorable Christmas program.Except for A, the oldest in the group , the others kids are all in primary school. So it was extremely entertaining. The manger setup with dried palm leaves was the talk of the event next to the antics of the pint-sized angels and shepherd boys.563808_567302096620286_120629543_n577939_4541534250546_401306613_n

A was the compere and also the Santa. He did  a pretty good job of both. M was one of the Wise men. M was to say his one line  to King Herod, in the little skit they put up,” Where is the King of the Jews born?” Right when he had to say it, he forgot what he had to say and Big Brother pitched in  and said his line as well .

I love this time of the year.

The slight dip in temperature made me start this project in the first place. However, in all honesty I’ve been wearing light cardigans or scarves and feeling extremely hot and sweaty Smile 01RR

This cowl  I made  with Lion brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick yarn is super warm and would be ideal for covering up on a cold cold day. When the day comes , I’ll be well prepared.

On my hook and needles right now…

are two easy to memorize projects. With a huge move looming in the background, and all my craft stuff packed away… I’ve just put aside enough yarn for two small  projects to work on ,(one crochet and another knit) when the itch to work on something strikes .
The first is the Isar Scarf… which I’ve been working on  now and then, while driving around in the car doing last minute shopping.A serendipitous discovery happened by the way ,I’ve used the same colours in this skein for my runner previously.

the other is the One Row Lace Scarf. I absolutely love these needle I’m using for it.- addi needles .

Both the yarns are Alize .For the Isar Scarf I’m using Alize Diva Batik and for the One row lace scarf, I’m using Alize Cotton gold Batik.
